Filter coffee is always a flush!
Hi, I’m Prunella from “Le Piantagioni del Caffè” and I would like to debunk the myth that filter coffee is always a flush.
In Italy, we often refer to filter coffee as to a big flush just because it’s not part of our culture.
We are so used to drinking espresso coffee – the high quality or not, but with a full body – that we are led to define filter coffee as to a flush because we don’t perceive it as full-bodied.
Actually, there is a lot of filter coffee.
It can be brewed with Chemex, with v60, with cold drip and in many other ways.
Even just these three that I mentioned, they each give a very different body.
This doesn’t entail they don’t have a body, but that it is lighter.
Sometimes as velvety as an espresso, but still less intense.
It is just a matter of getting used to drinking coffee with a different body to the one we are used to.
Only in this way, we will stop referring to filter coffee as to a flush.
