Evolution of the coffee machine
Hi, I’m Paolo from “Le Piantagioni del Caffè” and I will talk about the history of the espresso machine.
In the 1901 , Luigi Bezzera built the first coffee machine. But, unlike machines nowadays, it worked thanks to the steam pressure and there was no mechanical thrust that boosted the water against the coffee cloth.
In 1937, Achille Gaggia together with the engineer Cremonese built the first coffee machine that no longer exploited only the steam action but also the mechanical action provided by a tap and a plunger. Indeed it was registered as a piston tap machine for an espresso machine.
The first real espresso machine.
