Differences between coffee producing countries
Hi, I’m Prunella from “Le Piantagioni del Caffè” and I am going to tell you about where
coffee is produced.
Coffee is the second most traded commodity in the world after oil. It is produced in the countries of the intertropical belt between the Tropic of the Cancer and the Tropic of the Capricorn.
The coffee production goes from Asia, where the main producers are Vietnam with a low- quality Robusta and Indonesia with both Arabica and Robusta, to Central America, known for high-quality coffee in Guatemala, Costa Rica, Salvador, and Honduras.
Also, there are the countries of South America where Brazil is the most renowned because it is also the
first coffee producer.
But there are also Colombia which produces a very high quantity of Arabica, Peru, and finally the African continent. The latter is the mother of all coffees, it produces both Arabica and Robusta in many countries among which the most known: Ethiopia, Burundi, Kenya, and Tanzania.
