Estate
Refers to an area more or less reserved for growing specific coffee plants.
In terms of structure, it is similar to the Italian farm. Indeed, the term “estate” refers both to the physical plots of land where coffee is grown, and to the companies that produce the various coffees.
Identification of the estate of origin on a packs of roasted coffee is key to guaranteeing the traceability of the product, and this information is only available if the roaster purchases estate coffee, which can be traced back to the producer company.
